Our farm Ebnerhof is nestled in the rolling hills of the Mühlviertel region. For half a century, this farm has been working according to organic farming principles. Maria and Josef will welcome you here!
Regular farm life is governed by the seasons.
In spring, the fruit trees around our farmhouse are flowering. It’s a truly magical scenery. The fresh grass is coloured in light green. Our goats are looking forward to being outside on the pastures. Our bees start to collect honey. And we are also happy to come out of hibernation.
In summer, the grain fields mature. We make hay. Intense scents and dusty air. The tractors are busy. The harvest is about to begin. Our old combine harvester does its job. We pick flowers for our teas manually and dry them alongside with mint and balm.
In autumn, we harvest potatoes and collect fruit in our traditional orchard. At our neighbour’s farm, we press fresh apple juice. There’s an array of vegetables and cabbage on the field. The last tomatoes of the year are ripening in the glasshouse. The machinery needs a service and will then be stored in the garage. The leaves on the trees change colour.
In winter, the fields and meadows have time to rest. And so have we, the farmers. We take care of our animals. Cows and goats. Pigs and chicken. And we thin our forest. Apart from that there’s also time to drink a cup of tea, sit next to the tiled stove and make plans for the year to come. Time to take a deep breath and regenerate.
You can savour the diverse, colourful and precious gifts of nature at breakfast. We are happy to prepare a breakfast basket with organic food from our farm and other local farms for you.
