A holiday at the Gruber Farm means vacationing in the heart of the most natural high valley in Carinthia. Centrally located in the middle of the small village of St. Lorenzen in the Lesachtal, the farm is nestled between the church, the inn, and extensive green meadows.
Our farm's own cows graze contentedly. Our cat Flori and our goats Ella and Eddi are waiting for cuddles and food. An adventure night in the hay including a barn cinema, collecting freshly laid eggs from our free-range chickens, or a walk with our donkey Sina through the fields of St. Lorenzen will make children's hearts beat faster. It is particularly cozy in and around the garden gazebo: children play safely away from any roads, parents read a book in the hammock, grill over the open fire, or simply do nothing at all.
Watching the farmer over his shoulder or helping with the hay harvest are just as much a part of a holiday on our farm as joint activities. Friendships are quickly made during a tractor ride to the Lackenalm or a nice chat over coffee and cake. All of this allows you to enjoy your holiday to the fullest.
How you will stay with us
We offer double rooms with breakfast and a small holiday apartment with views of the village activities in the main house, and three holiday apartments in the apartment building in the green meadow. Our Bergkristall Suite was newly built in 2021: the furnishings and views of this unit are alpine and luxurious. A ground-level terrace with an unobstructed view of the Carnic Alps extends the living space towards the pasture. Donkeys, goats, and cows watch you during your coffee break ;-). The Alpenblick holiday apartment was also renovated in autumn 2024, receiving new floors, a new kitchen, and a new living room.
A holiday region for nature lovers
The Lesachtal is known for its unspoiled nature: countless hiking opportunities in areas that are virtually untouched by tourism make it possible to finally find some peace and quiet.
A forest educational trail with a climbing garden, rafting and canyoning providers, themed hiking trails, a swimming pool, and wellness facilities are located in the region. Numerous managed alpine huts offer regional dishes.

Suite Bergkristall 90m² (+ 24m² south-facing terrace) for 2-6 people
Wheelchair-accessible, barrier-free, and allergy-friendly apartment. It consists of an open-plan living, cooking, and dining area (dishwasher, electric stove with oven and extractor hood, refrigerator with freezer compartment, microwave, coffee maker, kettle) with satellite TV, a bathroom with a rain shower and towel dryer, and a separate WC. Upon request and for an additional charge, a second wheelchair-accessible bathroom with a rain shower and WC can be booked. The apartment offers two bedrooms for 2 people each with oiled oak parquet flooring, a playroom with a pull-out sofa bed, and a spacious south-facing terrace (24m²).
FREE Wi-Fi, bed linen, and towels are provided.
The apartment is located on the top floor of our holiday home. The kitchen is fully equipped, bathroom with shower / WC. One double bedroom and a children's room with two separate beds. From the living room with a sofa bed, dining area, and satellite TV, you can access the south-facing balcony with an unobstructed and breathtaking view of the Carnic Alps. Bed linen and towels are provided.
The apartment consists of a fully equipped kitchen-living area with satellite TV, as well as a double or triple room. The bathroom is equipped with a shower/WC and a towel dryer. The second double or triple room with satellite TV is located next door (see floor plan pos. 1) with its own en-suite shower/WC. Both rooms feature a spacious south-facing balcony. Bed linen and towels are provided.
